The aim of the project is to develop high-quality and accessible youth-friendly health care services that meet the needs and to encourage young people living in Jonava municipality to choose a healthier lifestyle.

It is planned to develop the Coordination Centre of youth-friendly healthcare services that would satisfy the needs of the municipality and would ensure the privacy of the consultations (at least part time of consultation teenager could spend alone with a specialist) and could offer convenient reception hours to young people (the opportunity to consult in the afternoon, in the evenings and on weekends) in Jonava district. Thanks to the learning and inter-institutional cooperation new skills of young people will be formed and their approaches will be changed by forming a positive approach to a healthier lifestyle. These measures will help to ensure opportunities of the project target group to develop a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating, diet related to disease prevention, mental health, physical activity, injury and accident prevention, addictions prevention, sexuality, hygiene skills and other medical skills.

Planned project activities:
  • Group and individual sessions with a psychologist for young people and their parents;
  • sessions and counselling to help overcome stress and chronic tension and to change attitudes towards body and appearance;
  • upgrading the qualifications and competences of professionals working with young people.
The project will involve cooperation between educational, social and personal health institutions, law enforcement authorities, youth organisations, NGOs and other bodies. Specialists of the Public Health Centre will coordinate the provision of case management and human rights-based health care for young people - health promotion, prevention, treatment and monitoring services in Jonava district. These measures will help to ensure that the target group of the project has the opportunity to develop healthy lifestyles related to disease prevention, mental health, physical activity, injury and accident prevention, addiction prevention, sexuality, hygiene and other skills.
