  • To provide family visitation service to at least 25 families from the 22nd week of pregnancy until the child reaches the age of 2 years.

Expected project results:
The implementation of the home visits in the provision of early intervention services is expected to improve the health and social well-being of mothers and children living in Kaunas city, Kaunas district and Kėdainiai district, increase the number of breastfed newborns and the number of infant vaccinations. The project will contribute to a reduction in the number of pregnant women who smoke, a reduction in the number of pregnant women with high arterial blood pressure and a reduction in the number of second pregnancies before the first child reaches the age of 2.
The project will also contribute to a reduction in the number of families at social risk due to the lack of parental childcare skills at the end of the year, improve women's participation in the labour market, and is expected to reduce maternal criminality.

According to the project promoter 5-7 woman, out of all women giving birth in their institution each year, are under 21 or over 40 years of age. 10-15% of women had risk factors related to health and healthcare, such as smoking, previous unwanted pregnancies. If risk factors such as poor couple/family relationships, domestic violence, poor living conditions, low self-esteem, unsafe social environment are taken into account, the number of pregnant women that have them could reach 20 percent or more, and the service provided by the project is expected to contribute to the improvement of these indicators.

Target group: Pregnant women, women giving birth and mothers/families with children under two years of age, children under 2 years of age.
