The region of the Curonian Lagoon could surprise many culture lovers with its cultural heritage, but so far is perceived by locals and visitors as a wonderful corner of nature, not a point of cultural attraction. The available local cultural resources are untapped to increase local attractiveness, develop identity, create new services and economic benefits, and empower communities.

Aim of the project: with the help of contemporary professional art and creative placemaking, to actualize the cultural resources of the coastal region, and to create a local cultural attraction that connects the community, nature, heritage with incoming artists, tourists and other cultural initiatives.
During the project, the existing infrastructure - reconstructed former barn will be adapted for the implementation of cultural activities, cultural education and cultural entrepreneurship education. It is planned to carry out cultural education and training in cultural entrepreneurship, improve skills, and exchange knowledge at the local, regional and international levels. The local community and artists will be consistently involved in the project activities; professional art residencies and visual arts activities based on the local context and the use of local resources, joint creative workshops, a series of public events and lectures will be implemented. The project aims to raise public awareness of the opportunities offered by local culture and to encourage the continued sustainable use of all project results through innovative audience engagement, storytelling and publicity activities.
During the project, the former barn of the town will be adapted for the implementation of cultural activities. Infrastructural changes will create conditions for such activities as the construction of traditional ships, the production of weathervanes, the production of local food, the sale of handicraft products, and cultural entrepreneurship activities.
Cross-sectoral bilateral cooperation will connect different value chains, accelerate the diffusion of services and create a positive impact on the place and its people.
