Hundreds of Hikers Joined CPVA Walking Tour

On Friday, October 18, the Central Project Management Agency (CPVA), in partnership with the Ministries of Health and Social Security and Labor, hosted the closing event for the European Economic Area (EEA) "Health" programme. The event featured a walking tour called "On the Paths of Žvėrynas" and a concert by the electronic music duo "Beissoul & Einius" for the residents and visitors of Vilnius.

The event started with tents that introduced the health projects supported by the programme. These included services like home visits for families, emotional well-being advisers, health cabinets, and therapeutic farming. Participants also had the chance to learn CPR, try on glasses simulating alcohol effects, and discover more about youth day centers.

Over 300 hikers participated in the tour, choosing either a 10,000-step or a 5,000-step route. They explored the beautiful autumn scenery of the Žvėrynas neighborhood in Vilnius. The event concluded with an awards ceremony for the "Steps Challenge: For a Healthy and Happy Lithuania" – a part of the "Walk 15" mobile app challenge. This was followed by a concert by the duo "Beissoul & Einius."

The CPVA walking routes, already enjoyed by over 7,000 people, remain available in the "Walk 15" app. To find the routes, simply go to the "Routes" section, search for "CPVA Walking Tour: On the Paths of Žvėrynas," and choose between the 10,000 or 5,000-step options.

About the Health Programme:

The EEA "Health" programme helped fund 69 health-related projects, reaching over 61,000 people and training more than 300 specialists. The goal of the programme was to make psychosocial support services more accessible to vulnerable groups, especially children, youth, and their families.

Featured Projects:

  • Emotional Well-being Advisers: These highly trained professionals provide help for people experiencing mild symptoms of depression and anxiety, with no need for a referral. They ensure complete confidentiality and anonymity.
  • Parenting Program "Incredible Years": This program helps parents of children aged 3-12 who face emotional or behavioral challenges. It teaches parents therapeutic play techniques and positive discipline to raise children without aggression or harsh punishment.
  • Upgraded Health Cabinets in Schools and Preschools: 361 health cabinets across schools and preschools were updated with resources to promote healthy living, physical activity, injury prevention, and mental health awareness.
  • Home Visits for Families with Newborns: Specially trained nurses and midwives visit families at home to support pregnant women and new mothers, helping them develop parenting skills and ensure their health until the child turns 2 years old.
  • Youth-Friendly Health Care Services (YFHC): Aimed at encouraging young people to lead healthier lives, these services are available in 24 municipalities across Lithuania. 28 trained coordinators have already provided over 4,000 consultations.
  • Multidimensional Family Therapy Program (MDFT): This program supports children and youth facing serious behavioral issues such as truancy, substance abuse, or aggression, and offers help to their families.
  • Therapeutic Farming Methodology: This program helps at-risk youth reintegrate into education or work by engaging in agricultural tasks. They learn teamwork, relaxation, and how to work in a natural environment.
  • Sports-Based Methodology: This program helps young people, including those from foster care, prepare for independent living. Teenagers at homes in Kaunas and Vilnius are supported daily, and 85 professionals have been trained to provide transition support.
