Join Us This Friday for a Walking Tour and Free Concert by "Beissoul & Einius"
This Friday, October 18, a special event will take place in Vilnius, near the White Bridge sports grounds, to celebrate the closing of the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism "Health" programme. The event, organized by the Central Project Management Agency (CPVA), invites everyone to actively spend their free time and strengthen both their physical and emotional health.
" With this event, we symbolically conclude a four-year journey of implementing health projects funded by the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism. In total, 69 projects were carried out, all aiming to make mental health services more accessible, especially for children, youth, and families," says Sandra Remeikienė, Deputy Director of CPVA.
The walking tour will begin at 6:00 PM. There are two routes to choose from: a 5,000-step route for a light walk (perfect for families with children) and a 10,000-step route for those who want more of a challenge and to explore the Žvėrynas neighborhood more thoroughly. Both routes are circular, starting and ending at the meadow near the White Bridge.
S. Remeikienė explains that the goal of the walk is to encourage people to take better care of their health. The World Health Organization recommends being physically active for at least an hour most days of the week, ideally every day.
"For nearly a month, we have been encouraging participants to use the 'Walk 15' mobile app to track their steps, live more sustainably, and help reduce CO2 emissions. The event by the White Bridge will be a great opportunity to celebrate the progress made in this challenge, which I hope will inspire even more people to get involved," she adds.
Starting at 5:00 PM, the event will feature a tent village, where participants can learn more about the "Health" programme's projects. These include home visits to new parents, emotional well-being advisers, public health programs in schools, therapeutic farms, and much more.
At 8:30 PM, the evening will wrap up with a performance by the popular electronic music and art duo, "Beissoul & Einius," who have won multiple awards and are known for their impressive stage design and costumes.
Event schedule:
- 5:00 PM: Tent village with information about the "Health" programme projects.
- 6:00 PM: Start of the "On the Paths of Žvėrynas" walking tour. You can join the walk until 6:30 PM. Refreshments will be available for those who complete the walk.
- 8:15 PM: "Steps Challenge: For a Healthy and Happy Lithuania" awards ceremony.
- 8:30 PM: Concert by the electronic music and art duo "Beissoul & Einius."
