The Psychological Support and Counseling Centre has been providing psychological and psychotherapeutic assistance to children, young people with various developmental disorders and their families for ten years. The specialists of the Centre have adapted, tested, and published practical-scientific methodologies based on new scientific psychological research, world-renowned methods and principles of narrative, family therapy and cognitive psychotherapy. These social service delivery models, as well as their existing knowledge and experience, have been integrated into the new “Intensive Integration Model” for counseling for children with behavioral difficulties and their families. Applying the prepared assistance model, the Public Institution Psychological Support and Counseling Centre plans to provide intensive social integration services and share this experience with Lithuanian specialists.

 

The aim of the project: To implement an innovative “Intensive Integration Model” developed by specialists-practitioners for children/young people with behavioral difficulties/disorders and their families, based on the available theoretical and practical experience.

 

The project includes:

  • To improve the Lithuanian social services system by introducing an innovative “Intensive Integration Model” for children/young people with behavioral difficulties/disorders and their families;
  • To train specialists of local municipalities and community members to work with the developed model;
  • To carry out scientific and practical evaluation and improvement of the services provided in the scope of the model and the achieved results.


Project benefit: 

During the implementation of the project, an innovative “Intensive Integration Model” will be implemented, tested, and evaluated, and recommendations for the application of the model will be prepared and presented to the public. It is planned 114 specialists from Jonava, Kaišiadorys, Kaunas districts, Marijampolė and Elektrėnai municipalities will participate in the trainings “Intensive Integration Model”, and 45 children and families will receive project services. A cooperation network will be set up, a competent team of executors will be assembled, and the premises will be repaired and adapted to provide advice to the target group. At the end of the project, the dissemination of its results will be carried out by the Public Institution Psychological Support and Counseling Center and municipal specialists who have participated in the training. A new model of social services has been implemented and evaluated, working with a target group, and trained specialists of local communities will create conditions for the sustainability of project results, implementation of new activities and projects.

 

Target group of the project: children/young people with behavioral and emotional disorders or difficulties, their families, and their immediate environment (school, friends, local community).
