One of the main overall objectives of the European Economic Area (EEA) and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms is to strengthen bilateral relations between the donor countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and the beneficiary countries.
The following ways are established for strengthening bilateral relations:
- National Bilateral Fund. This Fund is designed for strengthening bilateral relations between the donor countries and Lithuania by financing the additional short-term co-operation initiatives. For more information please see “National Bilateral Fund”.
- Bilateral co-operation at programme level. Each programme has set aside a bilateral fund for strengthening bilateral relations. This fund can be used by project applicants and promoters for networking and exchange of knowledge and/or for the establishment and development of partnership and the preparation of applications for donor partnership projects. For more information about the bilateral fund at programme level please select the programme you are interested in.
Programme and project partners. Most of the programmes supported by the EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms are implemented together with partners from the donor countries. Also, in a number of programmes, project applicants and promoters are encouraged (by giving additional scores at project selection phase) to look for partners for implementation of projects. For more information about the programme and project partners please select the programme you are interested in.
